Forgive a proud father a little boasting in his children, but last week at the American Association of Christian Schools’ National Competition at Bob Jones University, my daughter Erin took second in the Instrumental String Category on the harp, and my son Erik, a senior, took first in the Organ Solo. Erik and I appreciated the orderly beauty of BJU, as well as the hospitality of our dorm hosts, Ryan and Lee. Ryan treated us to some tremendous Breyer’s Ice Cream on Thursday night after receiving news of Erik’s win. Thanks, guys!
Below are downloadable Powerpoint videos of Erik’s performance of the Widor Toccata from Symphony No. 5, and Erin’s Impromptu-Caprice by Gabriel Pierné.
